In one of the best attended meetings of the season 38 GP14s sailed under warm summer skies in a light, southerly force 2-3. OOD Graeme Bristow and team coped superbly with shifty conditions ensuring good beats and clean starts in all 3 races. GP 14 Open - Full Results click here

The first race was notable by the superb recovery of Neil Platt (Bolton SC and West Kirby SC), lying 8th at the windward mark on lap 1 he sailed through the fleet over the next 2 laps to win the race from brother Ian Platt (Bolton SC) and Luke Shaw (Budworth SC)Competition remained intense amongst Gold fleet sailors in races 2 and 3 with the Platts, Luke Shaw, Martin Brennan (HLSC) and Bill Kenyon (Budworth SC) constantly swapping places from beat to run. Neil and Ian Platt eventually shared the honours with wins in race 2 and 3 respectively.

Across the Gold, Silver and Bronze fleets competition was ferocious with no single club showing dominance. The event was generously sponsored by Kelvin Hughes Ltd, through 1st Mark Chandlery of Golborne Lancs, which ensured a spread of prizes for large sections of all three fleets.
