Boxing Day - Results
January 2nd, 2008 by: Graham TinsleyBoxing Day on the Mere was always going to be a challenge when the forecast 9 mph emerged to be only 2-3 mph southerly at best. However, this did not deter the 49 entries who were split into 3 flights of Juniors, Single Handers and Double Handers.
Two handicap races were completed per flight with the Mere at its best, large wind shifts and then nothing at all. The patience of the competitors and race team was tested to the limit at times with Andy Couch (Rudyard) winning the Single Handers, Richard Whitworth (Hollingworth) the Double Handers and Sam Watson (Nantwich) winning the juniors on count back from Elliot Hanson (Redsmere).
In all, over £300 was raised for the RNLI, so a big thank you to all those that competed.
