JUNIOR TRAINING AND RACING AT BUDWORTH
Budworth Sailing Club is an RYA VOLVO Racing Club and as such is recognised as having achieved very high standards of coaching and training. During the 2008 season the club will be running regular training and coaching sessions, following the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme, aimed at developing the sailing skills and knowledge required to enable participation in the club’s Junior Racing programme. There will also be complementary coaching sessions for those Juniors already participating in club racing to improve their performance at open meetings and assist in achieving RYA Zone/National Squad status.

The club aims to provide a fun and sociable learning environment where Juniors and Seniors alike can improve their skills and increase their enjoyment of the sport. The schedule for 2008 is indicated below.

There will be a Junior Training Information evening held at the clubhouse on Saturday 15 March 08 during which the plans for the season will be presented and information on Open meetings made available. A 9 week course for Novice / Beginner sailors will be held from 1015-1215hrs on Sunday mornings from mid-April until early July 08. At the end of this course the participants are expected to be able to sail a minimum of a triangular course in a Force 3 wind. In order to participate, children will need to register during March 08. Places are limited so early enrolment is encouraged.
