Budworth once again entered a team for the prestigious and gruelling 24 hour race
Last year the team had finished 9th in 2006 and were pleased to be starting in the first flight.

24hr_2007_A.jpgFor those of you who haven’t been to the event, or know little about this extraordinary competition, it is a race that on average 70 teams race either GPs, Enterprises or Larks around the marina lake for 24hours starting at midday on the Saturday and finishing midday on Sunday.

It is the ‘Le Mans’ of sailing and sailors of all abilities from across the country descended on West Lancs Yacht Club. The event is always a ‘whose who’ of the sailing world with many top sailors coming from many different classes arrive (with the excuse of competitive sailing) to have a good social and reunion with old friends.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

NORTH WEST REGION 2007

In accordance with the Constitution, I give notice that: -

THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE ROYAL YACHTING ASSOCIATION, NORTH WEST REGION, WILL BE HELD

(CONCURRENTLY WITH THAT OF THE GREATER MANCHESTER ASSOCIATION OF SAILING CLUBS AND THE MERSEYSIDE COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF SAILING CLUBS)

AT

THE MOUNT (formerly Priory Wood Hotel), ORRELL ROAD, ORRELL, NEAR WIGAN WN5 8HQ (NEAR TO JUNCTION 26, M6)

ON TUESDAY, 30th OCTOBER 2007 AT 7.30PM.

Any resolutions for this meeting must be submitted to the Hon Secretary by Tuesday 9th  October 2007 at the above address.

If you have any other matter that you wish to raise, would you please let me know by the above date.

The Agenda will be circulated to Club Secretaries etc. 7 days prior to the meeting. After the AGM, there will be presentations by Katherine Rowberry  on the Green/Blue initiative and by Sally Kilpatrick (Regional Development Officer) on Clubs and Coaching funding opportunities, Sport England and County Sports Partnerships..

Sandwiches and tea/coffee will be provided following the AGM. There is also a pay bar.

I very much hope that your Club will be represented, and I look forward to receiving, for the Agenda, any items that you feel should be discussed at such a meeting.
