Handbooks!
Your membership cards and handbooks are finally in the post and should be with you shortly. As usual, if your large family requires extra copies of the handbook these will be available in the galley for a limited period. Remember the “master copy” of the duty rota is online, here on the club website

The final sailing event of 2009 was the Boxing Day open which was a great success, given the unpromising conditions, with 30 competitors. Coming in between two very cold spells the sailing was preceded by a spot of ice skating as the competitors attempted to negotiate a flooded and frozen car park.
The actual sailing took place in a lightish shifty southwester and was very close.

This quote from the latest RYA newsletter says it all:
Roger Allen from Warrington was presented with one of the RYA’s most prestigious awards, an RYA Award, on 19 November by HRH the Princess Royal, President of the RYA, at the organisation’s annual awards ceremony held in London.
Well done Roger, who aside from his work for the RYA has for very many years been a great asset to Budworth SC.
