About Us

Like the other fleets in the club we are always pleased to welcome new members, with or without boats.

We sail a variety of Fireball makes, dating from the 1960s to the present year. We have our own section of the dinghy park which all helps toward a very friendly and communicative team spirit.

There are usually opportunities to pick up a crewing job on a Fireball if you want to get into some exciting sailing but can’t yet run to a boat of your own.

fb5.jpgFleet members span the age range from under-20s to over-60s, from students to pensioners via doctors, teachers, engineers. You name it, they’re welcome.

The best time to see the fleet and the club in action is on a Sunday afternoon and visitors will certainly be made welcome, especially if you take the initial step of making yourself known to anyone at the club and asking to be introduced to a member of the Fireball fleet.

We encourage our members to attend Open meetings at other clubs and this has brought us considerable success and recognition.

Naturally we host our own ‘Open’, usually around June or July (check the news page).

Occasionally a boat comes up for sale so its worth asking around if your looking for your first or to upgrade.

You are more than welcome to phone the fleet captain, Steven Crossley on 01625 850 343 or send an email to Steven Crossley
