Cruising Along
A definite diary date for all cuising sailors is the return of the North West Cruising Conference dedicated to their interests on March 10. There are top speakers booked for the 2012 event being held near Warrington. Click here to find out how to book your place.
Unfair advantage?

Olympic Heritage On Show at Crosby
A special RYA Sail for Gold exhibition of our previous successes at Olympic and Paralympic Games will be on show from 10th March - 10th April at Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre.
Last chance for Instructors to book onto Regional Training Day
The North West Regional Instructors Conference takes place on 17th March, also at Crosby Lakeside, and the deadline to sign up is March 5th.
And if you want to become an Instructor …
You can find details of the 2012 programme for the North West and choose the course that suits your interests.
Another deadline nears
The year seems hardly to have begun but the racing season is getting close. The RYA Volvo Youth National Championships (31st March – 6th April 2012) at Pwllheli Sailing Club are convenient for North West competitors but they need to sign up by 25th March to book their slot.
Could Leigh and Lowton win?
They are entered for the RYA Club of the Year Award and have reached the final five. They discover the outcome on 3rd March at the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show, being held at Alexandra Palace, London.
Activate Your Laser 2012
Glossop SC have already proved winners with their introduction of an Activate Your Laser Fleet programme. The good news for other clubs is they can have a go at matching that in 2012, and the principles work for other classes as well!
Sailing your PC?
How many events can you join right up to the finals? The SailX Championship which culminates at the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show gives a chance to compete on-line against people from across the world. It is only one of a number of valuable competitions linked to the show.
Nurse- the screens
Triage is the name used in A & E departments for the process of sorting the wide variety of conditions that people present with - and the NW RYA has borrowed the term for our Triage Group as the best summary of their work. They look after those issues that need attention but may be wider than the concerns of a single club or aspect of the sport. Could they help your club?
