Membership
Are you interested in joining Budworth? To get an initial feel for the Club you would be most welcome to visit us, preferably on a Sunday afternoon.
If you are already sailing one of the classes sailed at Budworth you have an easy choice to make, and should contact the relevant class captain for details about joining that particular class.
However, if you are fairly new to sailing and not yet committed to any one class of boat, you may wish to consider joining initially as a crewing member, using your first season to familiarise yourself with the Club and the different classes of boat from which you can make your final choice. Crewing members are most welcome at Budworth, and the class captains can advise on the crewing opportunities in their fleet.
During each season, members are required to carry out two race management duties, usually manning one of the rescue boats. A rota of these duties is published in the Club Handbook as part of the racing programme. This is in no way an onerous task and is a very pleasant way of meeting other members and understanding the wider aspects of race management.
The Club owns both the clubhouse site and much of the Mere, and this enables subscription rates to be kept at a very low level. These are the rates for the 2008 new season:
