Budworth Sailing Club

Budworth SC prides itself on being a very sociable club. Every Sunday evening after racing members enjoy a well earned drink in our friendly bar which is stocked with a great selection of connoisseur beers. Many sailing events have a strong social element.For anyone who has visited the club over the last two decades you will  doubtlessly have visited the Budworth Bar… well, you must be due another visit, so come and  see the long overdue new decor. We have been fortunate to have benefitted from some willing voluntary apprentices who have turned the Bar into a “ welcoming  sea of blues “.

The annual laying up supper this year includes lots of fun activities and a hot pot supper:

• 8th March - Quiz Night. This year’s Quiz winners were from the RS fleet ,the team achieved a massive score of over 120 points.
• Easter Sunday - Egg hunt and the Budworth Egg Drop Challenge, where carefully crafted contraptions were built in between races to cushion the fall of a raw egg launched from the dizzy heights of the OD’S Box. (See the article below!)
• June 14/15 - Commodores Weekend  This year’s  Saturday event will keep you entertained from dawn till dusk with loads of entertainment for all the family. There will be a traditional hog roast, (without the “A la Carte” trimmings, making it affordable to all) and to finish off the evening we have the much awaited Home performance of Rob Murphy and his band “Elephant Juice”. New Family ticket to be introduced this year.  See the Poster below!

• 3rd Sept - Weds Night End of Season Supper. Prize Giving and a guaranteed fun social event to finish off the seasons mid-week sailing. Bring your own BBQ.
• 13th Sept - Murder Mystery - A night of mystery and intrigue, following the success of the New Year’s Eve party, Fun and Food, limited tickets, register your interest early.
• 1st Nov - Laying up supper - Prize giving and a hotpot to celebrate the end of the season. Accompanied by a fleet challenge.
• 31st Dec - New Years Eve Party - Numbers will be limited so register your interest early!
